Deform To Form a Star, the song on the album, is about the idea that perfection is kind of boring, and in order to create something really special it has to be slightly deformed in a way, or not deformed but slightly imperfect, you know? Perfection is, I think, something that human beings find is very boring. You know, supermodels[…]for example, are not…They’re not sexy are they, supermodels? They’re almost androgynous, they’re almost sexless, they’re perfect…and it’s almost like the fact that we need to see quirks and we need to see imperfections to make something appealing to us.
